When I created the video below, over 10 years ago, there was no such thing as a "web series" or a "vlog". I was being innovative when I went about creating what I called a "webisode", episodes for the web. The video is actually a 4 part series that I documented of myself when I was living in Kansas City, MO through my journey of recording music, performing at open mics, shooting photos, as well as looking for a rehearsal space. Literally NO ONE posted online video content in this way! Youtube was not the space it was over 10 years ago, so the content was pretty basic during that time. Now look at where we are with all the online content and web series you see now. I'm a pioneer! Ha! This just puts a smile on my face to see my own growth.
Many times when you are the first to do things, you will not always get that immediate support you anticipate for your "big idea", however consistency compounds and if you remain focused, all of these firsts will give you the confidence and motivation you need to move and take on new challenges.
These opportunities for learning became stepping stones of growth for me. In areas where I may not have always won in popularity, I excelled with my focus and work ethic. Ultimately everything we do molds us to be who we need to be to get to that next chapter in our lives. Just remain focused on the goal you set for yourself and keep pushing forward to your success no matter what. Never stop.
